Caroline Flack hated the attention that her relationship with One Direction’s Harry Styles drew

March 25th, 2012 by Lisa McGarry.

Caroline Flack has admitted that the hardest thing about dating Harry Styles last year, was the fact that everyone was so interested in what they were up to.

The Xtra Factor star started seeing the 17 year old One Direction singer, who was fifteen years her junior, last year after they met at an X Factor launch party in London.

The pair dated until early this year and during the time they were together, Flack got online death threats and a whole lot of criticism for dating a man so much younger than herself.

In an interview with The People this weekend, the leggy beauty has spoken out about the relationship for the first time and admitted that she hated all eyes being on her as they were.

She explained:
“Everyone had an opinion on me and Harry, which was the hardest thing.

“I suppose they’re entitled to their opinions but it was really tough. I learned the hard way. I learned a very difficult lesson but I suppose looking forward it isn’t a bad lesson to learn, is it?”

It is claimed that Harry dumped Caroline in January of this year as his management wanted him to be single before the band jetted to America. However, the now 18 year old singer tweeted that the decision to split was a mutual decision.

Caroline has learned many lessons from the brief romance and admitted that in future she would be playing things down and keeping her new relationships from the public eye if at all possible.

She hated all the press coverage of her and Styles’ romance and added:
“In future the easiest thing is that I keep it to myself. I can’t believe how much attention there was on me.

“I’ve been in Africa for a month with friends and it has been incredible to get away. We were helping people in the villages so it was a great experience.”

Harry is now making quite the name for himself in America and will soon jet to Australia with the 1D boys, for their first tour down under.

However Flack doesn’t bear any ill will and when the band broke a sales record in US last week, she was one of the first to congratulate them on Twitter. It’s all very amicable!
